IP and capacity utilization for October
- US industrial production rose by 0.9% versus 0.5% estimate. The prior month was also revised higher to 0.4% from 0.3%
- US capacity utilization increased to 77% from 76.4% last month. This was higher than the 76.3% estimate
- manufacturing production increased by 1.3% versus 0.6% estimate. The prior month was revised higher to 0.4% from 0.1%
- Effects of recent hurricanes added 0.6% to industrial production percentage change in October
So although better than expected, the hurricanes are having an impact.
