- same tariffs to border for goods intended for the EU
- to avoid a hard border we also need an agreement on customs' not the customs union 'that would not be compatible with a meaningful trade policy'
- Option 2: highly streamlined customs arrangement, simple requirements for movements of goods
- UK trade proposals allow independent trade policy
- it's pragmatic common sense' to work together'
- UK promises commitment to high standards in a customs arrangement
- promises environmental standards at least as high as the EU but wants flexibility on this and fisheries policy
- UK understands that market access of some services will not be the same
Carney's in the audience. I'm looking forward to questions from the floor !
While all this is going on don't forget that GBPUSD has large option expiries at 1.3800 at the top of the hour.
