The US stocks quietly limped into the close with gains in tact but the price off the morning highs.

- Nasdaq rose by 24.752 points or 0.45%
- The Dow once again failed to crack the 20K level - closing at 19945.04 The high extended to 19980.24. The high water mark for the Dow, reached 19987.63 on December 20th
