Continuing claims 2263K vs. 2210K estimate.

The US initial jobless claims rose in the current week to 284K vs. estimates of 275K last week. This was up 7 K from the prior week. The four-week claims average rose to 278.75K from 275.75K.

Although number was higher from last week and the four-week moving average also was higher, the numbers remain within a variance suggestion the job market is still solid. Also the numbers can be influenced by seasonals and weather at this time of year. No special factors affected claims in the week.

The market is little changed after the 8;30 AM releases.
