April 6, 2016: The strongest is the USD. The weakest is the GBP

The USD is at the top of the table in our morning snapshot of the major currencies and their changes from yesterday's 5 PM close. The weakest is the GBP.

The GBPUSD is the weakest currency pair today, having moved down by 0.85% - and trading at the lows as I type. The pair is also below the swing low area between 1.40325 and 1.4058. Going back to Feb 22, the pair has traded below that area during one stretch from Feb 23 to March 2. There have been 4 swing lows against the area. That is not the case today as the pair trades at 1.4019 as I type. Meanwhile EURGBP is pushing toward 0.8100 and helping to wag that GBPUSD dog as well.

Looking at the ranges and changes, the GBP pairs are all trading at extreme levels. The ranges for the GBP pairs are also outperforming. The focus today in trading today is definitely on the GBP and its sister/brother crosses.
