Reserve Bank of India governor Rajan will soon learn of his fate 13 June 2016

There has been much conjecture as to whether Rajan will get to serve a second term given that he seems to have fallen out of favour with his government but Bloomberg report an unnamed source as saying that time is probably due in August.

At this point, says the source, no panel has been set up to consider candidates for the term as RBI gov that would begin in September when Rajan's current term ends.

There has been much talk of whether Rajan will get a second term as governor given his reluctance to cut interest rates as the government would like.

The decision will be made by PM Modi and fin min Jaitley and there has been weekend speculation, along with conflicting reports, as to whether Rajan even wants to continue in any case. He has however urged the media to watch the statements from the two ministers.
