Carly Fiorina will run alongside Cruz if he wins

Former Republican Presidential candidate Carly Fiorina will be Ted Cruz's running mate if he steals wins the nomination, he's poised to announce. Cruz had touted a big announcement at 4 pm earlier today but world has already leaked out and she's been spotted in Indiana where he has a speech later.

Cruz is in desperation mode in Indiana. He's cut a deal with Kasich not to campaign in the state. He needs to win it or Trump will have a very good chance of securing enough candidates ahead of the convention.

The delegate math shows Indiana and California are critical. Trump won at least 105 of the 118 pledged delegates Tuesday and that puts him a few hundred away from the 1,237 he needs to avoid a contested convention.

Despite Trump's win in Pennsylvania yesterday, there are still 54 delegates unpledged from the state and it's unclear how the complicated process of winning their support will swing.

Indiana is huge. It's a winner-take-all vote on May 3. Three recent polls show Mr. Trump with a lead in the mid-single digits. California is winner-take-all by district and Trump is ahead.
