Confirmed: Carney's Mansion House speech is cancelled

No Hammond and no Carney

Earlier report said (and confirmed) that Hammond would cancel his Mansion House speech but Carney would go one. Now reports are crossing that the entire event is cancelled. because of the Grenfell Tower fire.

We were hoping for a bit of clarity from the BOE after today's statement but it doesn't look like it's coming. We will try to find out if Carney's speech will be published anyway or if it will be rescheduled. (Update: The BOE says it will be given "in due course").

Let's remember back to 2014 when Carney delivered this fiasco in his Mansion House speech, which is still his most-notable work at the BOE.
