CPI data on a separate post

Overall Household Spending y/y for June, -2.2%

  • expected -0.4%, prior was -1.1%

Jobless Rate for June, 3.1%

  • expected 3.2%, prior was 3.2%

Job-To-Applicant Ratio for June, 1.37

  • expected 1.37, prior was 1.36

OK, on this data what sticks out is ...

Overall Household Spending y/y for June, -2.2%

  • expected -0.4%, prior was -1.1%

This is another poor data point ... the virtuous circle of wage rises and consumption rises ain't happening.

Again, just like with the CPI data, this is a boost to the chances of more BOJ easing today.
