Wikileaks publishes secret IMF talks

The IMF discusses threatening to withdraw from the Greek bailout if Germany doesn't accept debt relief, documents published by Wikileaks showed.

The leak is a transcript of a March 19, 2016 teleconference between the head of the IMF's European Dept and the IMF Mission Chief for Greece.

"This is going to be a disaster" remarks the Mission Chief in the meeting.

The strategy isn't a shock for anyone who has followed all the twists and turns of the Greek saga over the past 5 years. The IMF has long taken the side that it's unrealistic for Greece to repay its debt burden under any circumstances.

Separately, Reuters reports that Greek debt relief talks will begin before mid-April in Washington. They cite unnamed Eurozone officials.

Meanwhile, Bloomberg's autocomplete function is already ready for the annexation.
