Bush senior and wife sent to intensive care unit
George HW Bush and his wife Barbara have both been sent to hospital, according to a statement.
George was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit at a Houston hospital due to a respiratory problem stemming from pneumonia.
From the statement, it sounds serious enough. He's 92 years old.
Bush had hoped to attend Trump's inauguration but bowed out yesterday.
"My doctor says if I sit outside in January, it will likely put me six feet under," Bush said in the letter, which was released by his office. "So I guess we're stuck in Texas."
