- Rules out parallel currency for Greece
- Other payment obligations issued by the government may work for maybe a week
- Every currency created outside of the ECB's monopoly is counterfeit money from a legal point of view
- ECB governing council will discuss Greek vote in detail
- No vote would massively weaken Greece's negotiating position
Nowotny is definitely not going down the dual currency route and adds;
"When a country is part of the euro, the currency of that country is the euro"
The ECB are also starting to step across that blurred line of getting involved in the politics of the situation. Yes they are involved as part of the Troika but they shouldn't be passing comment on the politics of it
