China seizes underwater drone

Donald Trump has taken a diplomatic shot at China via Taiwan policy and China's military may be pushing back.

Reuters reports that:

A Chinese Navy warship has seized an underwater drone deployed by an American oceanographic vessel in international waters in the South China Sea, triggering a formal diplomatic protest.

The underwater drone was in the South China Sea, which is a disputed zone that the US claims is international waters and China claims for itself.

Earlier this week, it was reported that China has built seven artificial islands in the South China Sea and installed anti-aircraft and anti-missile systems.

The report has helped to weigh on the US dollar in the past 30 minutes.
