Belgian police can ask people to delete any pictures taken of the EC's Berlaymont building

Despite their being no official law or emergency directive, Belgian authorities have seen to impose a ban of picture taking of the EC property

The law does allow pictures to be taken of government buildings as long as they are taken from public grounds. While there is no official ban police have been allowed discretion, as one journalist found out today. A soldier and two plain clothed officers ordered him to delete some photo's he had just taken for a story, reports Heard In Europe blog

On one hand such a move might be expected given the recent terrorist activity, but on the other, the Belgians also today dropped their terror threat down to level two

It all seems a bit pointless, given the amount of pictures you can simply pull up on Google
