USDCAD, NZDUSD, AUDUSD, EURUSD making new extremes (higher dollar). USDJPY making new lows.
- The USDCAD is making a new day high above 1.3250. It trades at 1.32476
- The NZDUSD just ticked below the day lows at 0.7048. It trades now at 0.7058.
- The AUDUSD ticked just below the day lows at 0.7535. It trades at 0.7540
- The EURUSD tested but did not make new lows at 1.1054. IT trades at 1.1060
So as the GBPUSD gets hit hard, the other major pairs are higher against the USD, they are testing extremes (USD higher in each) but they are not running away.
What about USDJPY?
Well against the dollar is lower against the JPY. In fact, if the GBP is the weakest currency the JPY is the strongest (rising against all the major pairs). The story will be that the lower stocks sent the flow of funds into the relative safety of the JPY. The JPY has risen by 2.17% against the GBP (GBPJPY is down 2.17% on the day). The USDJPY is lower, but it is the least impacted in trading today.
