Highlights of the July US trade balance report:
- Prior was a deficit of $43.84 billion (revised to $45.21B)
The revisions offset the better July number.
- Exports +0.4%
- Imports -1.1%
Given the strong dollar, you wouldn't expect to see falling imports but that's the story in July. In year-over-year terms, exports were $188.50B compared to $196.91B a year ago.
