Carney getting grilled to give an answer on potential recession if Leave vote prevails hence that last comment and now skirting around trying to stay neutral.
He's reiterating that the BOE can only make a limited judgement by mandate/job spec
- BOE not making judgment or forecast about long-term Brexit impact
- BOE has responsibility to communicate Brexit risks
In fairness Carney and Co are between a rock and a hard place on Brexit position and this exchange is as I envisaged.
