Citi's economic surprise index show's Canadian economic data is beating estimates by the most of all the major economies. This is yet another example.

- Inventories -0.3% vs +0.7% prior (revised from +1.1%)
- Sales up in 4 of 7 subsectors
- Gains mainly attributable to he motor vehicle and parts subsector (+17.1%)
