A key line is missing

The line in the G20 statement where leaders committed to fighting protectionism and inward-looking policies was removed.

In July, the statement said all G20 countries would "continue to fight protectionism including all unfair trade practices."

That was removed and replaced with this. "We reaffirm the conclusions of our leaders on trade at the Hamburg Summit and recognize the need for further dialogue and actions. We are working to strengthen contribution of trade to our economies."

The new statement also says leaders "recognize the role of legitimate trade defense instruments," which is likely a nod to Trump's tariffs and further plans to hit China with $60 billion in technology tariffs this week.
