The bill now goes to the upper house (Senate) for a vote
It is expected to have an even more difficult time getting passed there, but we'll see. As it currently stands (and this can change)
- At least four Senate Republicans have said they will oppose the bill
- That would mean more than 12 Democrats would have to support it for it to pass
The bill has achieved a majority in the House
- it's a stop gap measure
- funds government through to February 16 (if it passes Senate - see above)
