Bank of England governor Carney makes an appearance before the TSC today

Carney is up before the Treasury Select Committee at 14.15 GMT today to present/explain the latest Financial Stability Report.

Also appearing:

  • Alex Brazier, Executive Director, Financial Stability Strategy and Risk
  • Anil Kashyap, External Member,
  • Martin Taylor, External Member, Financial Policy Committee

The BOE's FSB papers are:

"designed to develop new insights into risk management, to promote risk reduction policies, to improve financial crisis management planning or to report on aspects of our systemic financial stability work"

Expect the TSC to ask some awkward questions as they attempt to put together their enquiry into BOE mon pol. I've recently posted and tweeted to the BOE and TSC ( Carney's chief tormentor Jacob Rees-Mogg) the thoughts of our guest economist John Hearn and the questions he/we would like to see asked by the TSC.

Let's see if any of it has sunk in or whether they might keep their powder dry at this time.
