UN Security Council unanimously supports new sanctions

The US scored a major foreign policy win on Saturday after a resolution to ban North Korean exports of coal, iron, iron ore, lead, lead ore and seafood. Combined that's worth $1 billion per year of the nation's $3 billion in annual exports.

It's still a small sum and few believe it will do anything to prevent North Korea from getting nuclear weapons.

However, it is a sign that China is growing impatient with North Korea and no longer willing to veto fresh sanctions.

"The United Nations Security Council just voted 15-0 to sanction North Korea. China and Russia voted with us. Very big financial impact!" Trump wrote on Twitter Saturday.
