David Cameron meets the Queen today to ask for the dissolution of parliament
Here we go folks, the UK election campaigns will be heating up from now.
Officially at midnight today the UK parliament was dissolved and Dave will be visiting the Queen for the ceremonial formalities
Over the weekend the Conservative were said to be ahead by 4 points in the latest polls
Now the airwaves will be filled with party political broadcasts as we get the reasons for voting for each party rammed down our throats. Can't wait ;-)
More importantly it will mean heightened focus on polls and that means some added volatility for the pound
