One of the ways of getting around the referendum result is if there was a general election in which one (or more) of the parties campaigned to remain and made it part of their manifesto. If that party won they could, in theory, try and trump the Brexit vote by saying that their election was based on their manifesto, of which part was the promise to remain in Europe.

It's a long shot but it's remotely possible, and it would be one of the few times an elected government actually acted on one of their election pledges ;-)
