The most expensive house for sale in the United States

Even for the richest people, spending $159 million on a single house is a tough expense to justify.

Marketwatch reports that a 60,500 square foot mansion is for sale in Hillsboro, Florida. The house isn't yet complete but is owned by Robert Pereira, the founder of Middlesex Corp., a Massachusetts-based construction company.

"The main house has 11 bedrooms, including a master suite with a heated plunge pool on the balcony. The house also has an 18-seat IMAX home theater, a 30-car subterranean garage, a wine cellar with room for about 3,000 bottles and a 1,300-gallon built-in aquarium," Marketwatch reports.

If it's sold for the asking price, it will be the most-expensive home ever sold in the United States.
