OPEC (The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries) meets again(again!) on June 2

They last met in April (the Doha Debacle) and before that in December of 2015.

Expectations are low for much to come from the June meeting. Saudi et al to keep on pumpin' is the current consensus view (it'll be interesting if this shifts as we approach the June meeting)

Eugene Weinberg, head of commodities research at Commerzbank in Frankfurt says that the 'pump all you want' strategy calls into question the reason for OPEC's existence, but :

  • "The question is ... is OPEC dead or just in a coma?"
