It's a "people familiar" story so take it as you will.
I'm often critical of of my lot in charge but I'd be shocked if the UK didn't pay its way for commitments it's made in Europe, to a point of course. The fact of the matter is that there will be balance agreed between what comes in from Europe and what goes out to them and setting that number is where it will become tricky.
It's nice to know that the EU has it's priorities right though and that it's not all about the money #sarcasm.
