This is probably only of interest to Australian readers

It concerns an RBA memo (from December of 2014) released under Freedom of Information laws

It concerns tax policy and the debate at present in Australia on 'negative gearing'

  • A move against negative gearing, the memo says, would trigger a large-scale sale of negatively-geared properties "only if the changes were not grandfathered".

The current government policy is not to change 'negative gearing'.

The opposition want to change the policy and they will 'grandfather' it.

So the concerns expressed in the memo are not really relevant either way.

But, carry on with the noise by all means.

Like I said, probably only of interest to Aussie readers. Those not already bored to tears with the election campaign.
