Minutes of the Reserve Bank of Australia April meeting (back on April 5)

  • Policy was left unchanged
  • Comments on the Australian dollar... there was an expectation for greater 'jawboning' on the currency but it was subdued
  • The door was left open to further cuts

While we'll be looking at the minutes for further detail on concern about the appreciation of the Australian dollar, on the basis of the accompanying statement the bank did not express a strong view. it would be a surprise if the minutes contain too much more on the currency.

Still, if you're trading the AUD, the minutes are an event risk today.
