The lives and welfare of EU and UK citizens and businesses is being negotiated by clowns

Of all the things you could think of to throw into Brexit negotiations I bet you language wouldn't be one of them.

Europe's chief Brexit negotiator, Michel Barnier has come out and said that all negotiations should be done in French, according to an EU official. More sensibly, the EU says that there is no language regime for the negotiations and a UK spokeswoman said they will not comment until a formal request is made.

Barnier covered the City of London as Internal Market Commissioner and caused upset with his views on piling on regulation to the finance industry. He left the commission in 2014.

Perhaps his English isn't up to scratch and if so I'm sure the UK will be more than accommodating. I wonder how different his view of the UK and the City ("one of Europe's biggest assets") will be now, compared to an interview he gave in 2014....in English?
