New Zealand economic data, this from the ANZ Bank, their Consumer Confidence Index for January.
Up 3.4% on the month to 128.7
- Prior was -2.1% m/m to 124.5
- January is its highest for 21 months
ANZ remarks:
- Confidence higher on good news on the labour market, still low inflation, pick up in the outlook for dairy
- ANZ GDP gauge is showing growth at greater than 4%
As part of this release the ANZ also survey inflation expectations, for January these at 3.7% (from 3.4% last month)
