New boy Gertjan Vlieghe will testify to the UK parliamentary Treasury Select Committee tomorrow at 09.00 GMT

Vliege is a former economist at hedge-fund Brevan Howard Asset Management and apart from being quizzed on MPC policy and his future voting intentions it's also probable he will get probed on potential conflicts of interest

TSC chairman Andrew Tyrie said in July that he'll press Vlieghe for re-assurance because it's "essential" for policy makers to be independent.

Vliege initially planned to retain rights to future pay-outs from Brevan Howard, while withdrawing from any active interest. He eventually severed all ties to avoid impression of a conflict.

He was also a speech writer for previous BOE gov Mervyn King

Let's hear what he's got to say tomorrow
