So reports OpenEurope from a poll published yesterday by ComRes and first reported by Bloomberg

The ComRes survey for the Daily Mail newspaper ( well known for its Tory-inclined bias) showed 55% percent wanting to remain in the EU with 36% opposed. The last time ComRes surveyed voting intentions, in June, it found 51% backed staying in the EU with 33% opposed. The number of Don't Knows fell to 8% percent from 16 %

ComRes's findings contrast with the most recent YouGov Plc poll, taken in mid-September, which put the "leave" campaign two points ahead, the first such lead since November last year.

Cameron, who's pledged to call the referendum by the end of 2017 once he's completed a renegotiation of EU membership terms, told BBC Radio yesterday that he's "making good progress."

On Sunday I posted of Cameron's concerns that he would get what he wants. I also highlighted that the migrant crisis may have pushed immigration to the top of the list but shoved negotiating with the UK a lot lower

In July though I posted that there was a good chance of a June 2016 vote and Adam posted on a possible March 2016 date at the polling booths

Today Cameron makes his keynote conference speech to the party faithful and we'll look for clues amongst the peacock-suiting/tub thumping rhetoric
