What a scorcher we have next week

The first week of August is going to be massive for the BOE and fed. Here's a snapshot of what we're getting (Times are BST cos it's my calendar :-P )

Econ data

The highlights are:

  • Big manufacturing data from China this weekend and then from Europe, UK and US Monday
  • Tuesday - US factory orders
  • Wednesday - UK services PMI, EZ retail sales and a sniff at the jobs picture from ADP, then ISM non-manufacturing
  • Thursday - German manufacturing, BOE MPC meeting with the minutes released and the quarterly inflation report
  • Friday - The huge Canadian jobs report and minor US non-farm payrolls

US jobs is going to be a big one but the BOE meeting could be a massive announcement for the UK rate picture

It looks like we have our work cut out on the preview front ;-)
