Reserve Bank of Australia May meeting minutes due today at 0130GMT

I posted here a Quick preview of the RBA minutes due today

And, we all know that better than one quickie ... is two!

Via RBC:

  • Minutes from the May board meeting have largely been superseded by the detailed Statement on Monetary Policy
  • This conveyed an upbeat message and confidence in return to above-trend growth and within target inflation
  • Weaker domestic data since then complicate the picture, but we suspect that the minutes will stick to a familiar script on growth and inflation whilst acknowledging housing market developments. It is unlikely to sway the consensus view of an RBA on hold for some time.

Or 3!

This via TD:

The Statement was marginally more upbeat, noting the pickup in employment

Minutes are unlikely to say anything market-moving, not with wages and employment released afterwards.

(TD referring to

  • Q1 wage cost index due from Australia on Wednesday
  • & the April employment report due from Australia on Thursday )
