Dr. Loretta Mester is President & CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland

She had comments reported from CNBC earlier

Now on Bloomberg TV saying pretty much the same sort of thing

  • We're at full employment, inflation moving up
  • Comfortable with rates being higher
  • Will wait for discussion at next meeting
  • Don't want to wait too long on tightening rates
  • Gradual path leads to better outcome
  • GDP growth is a bit above trend
  • Forecast is fro unemployment to fall
  • Don't believe we are behind the curve on rates
  • Still uncertainty on fiscal side
  • Uncertainty in the global economy & European banks
  • If economy continues on path, comfortable with rate hike
  • Some problem areas in the labor market
  • We don't want to surprise market
  • Our job is to base policy on the medium-term outlook
