Chicago Fed President Charles Evans:

  • Wait and see approach is appropriate, given risks
  • Expects only moderate increases in policy path, with economic risks higher than in Dec
  • US economic fundamentals are good
  • Trends don't look favorable for any quick boost to US trend growth and low productivity

Evans was a major dove but he's reeled it in lately. He still doesn't sound like he's going to support a hike for awhile.

More:

  • Inflation will 'inform a lot' about the Fed's coming actions
  • Will not be surprised by deceleration of jobs gains
