Who is the Fed protecting?

One of the most-powerful men in Washington asked the Federal Reserve to provide the names of individuals who may have leaked confidential information. The Fed ignored him.

Rep. Jeb Hensarling (R., Texas), Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, sent a letter to Fed Chairwoman Janet Yellen on April 15 asking the Fed to name names by 5 p.m. EDT April 22, the WSJ reports.

She didn't even bother to respond.

It stems from a secret Fed inquiry after a Medley report contained intimate details of the Oct 4, 2010 FOMC minutes. The Fed has a list of all the people who made contact with Medley and, for whatever reason, Yellen & Co aren't saying who is on it.

That might make for a very-interesting Humphrey Hawkins.
