The original fine was said to be in the $14bn region so this would be a big result for DB if true. The euro has bounced and the news will be good for DB's stock and may help lift the banking sector in general.
At the moment these are unconfirmed reports though. DB shares have recovered earlier loses to -0.9% now.
Another lift for banks is that it's also just been rumoured that Monti Paschi has received bids for its NPL book.
