Livesquawk picking up an interview with Mario Draghi in Germany's Bild

  • German people can rest assured the ECB is doing everything to restore inflation
  • ECB is aware of the situation for savers
  • Rates are low because growth and inflation is low
  • What counts is savings in real terms i.e interest minus inflation. This is higher today than it was in the 1990's (f**k all is f**k all, however you calculate it.)
  • Germans don't just have to keep their money in savings but can invest in other ways
  • Doesn't take anything Schaeuble says personally
  • One thing is clear, the ECB obeys the law not politicians

He's certainly not doing himself any favours with some of the comments. Best he pack his tin hat for his trip to the Bundestag.
