December 2016 Canadian existing home sales
More notable in the release was the average prices of sales.
The Canadian average fell 1.9% m/m to C$486,338. It was +3.5% y/y. In hotspot Vancouver, prices rose 2.7% to C$972,529 and are -3.3% y/y. Toronto saw a -1.1% fall m/m (C$773,251) but is up 19.9% y/y.
Units sold in Vancouver were down 40% y/y so maybe some of that heat is coming out of the area.
