With the Greek crisis off the market's top concern list, just a catch up on a couple of headlines this weekend:

There is a national election next month

  • Former Greek PM Tsipras's Syriza party is leading the conservative opposition
  • Poll by Alco for Sunday's proto Thema newspaper, Syriza 22.6 percent against 21.1 percent for New Democracy

Christine Lagarde, head of the International Monetary Fund, speaking with Swiss newspaper Le temps (report via Reuters):

  • Some form of debt restructuring rather than outright forgiveness should enable Greece to handle its debt burden
  • "We are talking about extending maturities, reducing rates, (making) exemptions for a certain period of time. We are not speaking about cancelling debt."
  • No mention of whether the IMF will take part in the latest Greek bailout

On China, Lagarde told the paper

  • Expects growth rate to slow, but remain close to previous estimates
  • "The slowdown was predictable, predicted, unavoidable"
  • "We expect that China will have a growth rate of 6.8 percent. It may be a little less."
