Bank of Japan on the calendar today during the Asian timezone, and an Australian leading index.

2300GMT, Conference Board Leading Index for Australia, October (how a leading index is two months behind the current date is something I don't think I'll ever figure out). This is not generally a market mover at all, but its a bit of background info.

Here are some links to the previous 3 leading indices from the Conference Board:

  • Australia - Conference Board Leading Index for September -0.1% m/m
  • Australia - Conference Board leading index (August): -0.4% m/m (prior +0.3%)
  • (July) Australia-Conference Board Leading Index +0.3% m/m

2350GMT - Bank of Japan Minutes for the November meeting (18th and 19th). Given the (minor) BOJ action at the December meeting these Minutes will be a bit stale and dated. But maybe we'll find something of interest in them.

0400GMT - Bank of Japan Governor Kuroda speaks in Tokyo. At aMeeting of Councillors of Nippon Keidanren (Japan Business Federation). I imagine we'll hear Kuroda call for wage hikes; both the BOJ and government would like to see wages rise to support price rises (inflation) in Japan, which, according to official government figures are still well behind what the BOJ and government want.
