The holes left by a lack of economic data today is being filled by talking heads

We get more speeches from the central bank movers and shakers today. Here's the scheduled run down;

  • 12.10 GMT Fed's Dennis Lockhart is speaking to the blue rinsed masses in sunny Florida
  • 13.00 GMT BOE's Martin Weale takes flight to the Netherlands and the University of Groningen
  • 14.30 GMT Fed's Charles Evans speaks at the World Steel Assoc's 49th annual conference, with bonus Q&A
  • 17.05 GMT BOC's very own pen juggler, Stephen Poloz puts business before pleasure and the Columbus Day holiday to speak to the National Assoc for Business Economics in Washington. The speech text is due at this time and he actually speaks 15 minutes after
  • 20.30 GMT Fed's Lael Brainard joins Poloz at the same conference as Poloz to talk about the economic outlook and monetary policy
  • 21.40 GMT RBA's Philip Lowe talks "Fundamentals and Flexibility" at the CFA Institute Australia Investment conference in Sydney

Out of all that lot probably Weale, Brainard and Poloz may offer us something new as we've heard from Lockhart and Evans in the last few days. Eamonn will be hoping for a better showing from Brainard after her last speech at the beginning of Oct ;-)
