Mark Carney only committed to only five years when he started

Maybe he'll get a forecast right if he sticks around long enough.

"I'm not crossing off dates on the calendar," Carney told the FT. "I mean, there is so much more to do at this institution, through this institution internationally, and as part and parcel of what this institution's doing to really ensure that we've got a strong, sustainable, balanced recovery."

The FT also has some unusual analysis of Carney today that focuses on his communication.

"His Canadian speeches averaged 22 words a sentence compared with 17 since joining the BoE," the report says.

They argue that's him trying to be clearer. I'd argue it's that he's dumbed it down so the Brits can understand ;)
