Bloomberg headline from their latest survey on the policy outlook from the Reserve Bank of Australia

  • Of 28 economists
  • 2 see a rate cut in December
  • 16 see a rate cut by February

-

  • The December meeting is the next scheduled, for the 1st of the month
  • There is no RBA meeting in January (holiday time!)
  • The February meeting is thus the first of 2016, on the 1st

-

I'm always warning against certainty in the markets ... but as for the potential for a December rate cut from the RBA ... I'm gonna be pretty close to 100% that it will not happen. Barring any global economic calamity between now and then, of course.

February? I'd be a 'no cut' then too at this stage ... but much water to flow under the bridge until then.
